ON THE HORRIZON: 'THE VAULT'
Johnny Depp set to adapt / executive produce hot comic property

A small team of treasure hunters struggles to excavate a dangerous and legendary treasure pit before a massive storm hits Sable Island, the ‘Graveyard of the North Atlantic’. Equipped with all the latest technology, the scientists believe they are prepared against all of nature’s fury, but nothing can prepare them for what they are about to unleash from The Vault.

Johnny DeppJohnny Depp has snagged the film rights to Image Comics' graphic novel trilogy THE VAULT and will adapt it into a major motion picture, as well as act as the project's executive producer. The project will be co-produced via his company Infinitum Nihil (where Depp is also developing Dark Shadows) in partnership with GK Films, with John Woo in line to possibly direct. Not bad for a comic book whose first issue was released only this week, with the second of three parts landing September 28th. But Depp quickly realized the sci-fi property's potential. Sam Sarkar and Garrie Gastonny are the comic's creators (written by Sarkar and illustrated by Gastonny, respectively). Graham King and Tim Headington will represent GK Films. No confirmation has been released as to whether Depp will star in the film.
